Hi, I'm Hattie, I draw pictures and I do colouring-in.

I am a Director, Animator, Illustrator, Artist, and Designer. An eternally curious maker of things and doer of stuff.

I used to live in a monastery, now I live on a roundabout.
 
I founded the brand This & Hat., but mostly, I make films. 

I specialise in traditional, hand-drawn animation and documentary film, with particular interests in sound design, editing, and experimental filmmaking techniques.

Much of my film work focuses on social justice. I believe animation to be the perfect tool for documentary film: as a way to describe subjective experiences
and states of mind. 

My films have have earned 16 international awards, having screened in more than 100 film festivals, in over 35 countries and across 6 continents.

I'm still trying to break Antarctica. Tough crowd.
 
I have delivered talks about my work at various film festivals including the BAFTA qualifying Aesthetica and London International Animation Festivals.

I am a Lecturer of Animation at the
 University for the Creative Arts.  I have also taught Fine Art, Graphic Design and Illustration.
